Halloween Part Two

For Halloween this year I made Halloween shaped pancakes for Ashlyn.

For Halloween this year Ashlyn wanted to be Fancy Nancy and Nathan was a Monkey. We went over to Jess and Todd's house and then went trick or treating with them and Luke.

Poor Nathan you couldn't even see his face.

Halloween Part One

For Halloween this year Ashlyn and I tried out some new cookie recipes. We made owl cookies and Kitty Kat cookies.

We also went and visited the pumpkin patch by our house. We had gone to Oak Glen earlier in the month and picked out our pumpkins, but Ashlyn still wanted to go the pumpkin patch by Nanny's house.

When we got back we started carving our pumpkins. Ashlyn was not a fan of the gross stuff.

We finally got her to put her hand inside the pumpkin and pull out the seeds.

Richard, Lynn & Richie come to visit....

In October our good friends Richard, Lynn and their son Richie made the trek over to visit us in California from Scotland. We had so much fun visiting and hanging out with them. It was nice to have a little bit of England with us for a while. Hopefully they will come back and visit us soon.

One of the fun things we did was head over to Calico for the day. My brother Joshua found this tombstone and couldn't resist taking a picture.

This donkey was so cute! After this Richard kept telling Lynn that he wanted to get a donkey. I don't think she was too impressed.

The whole gang (minus Nathan and I) climbed to the top of this big hill. Even Ashlyn made it to the top.

Another day they were here we headed up to Oak Glen. Richard and my brother Robert made homemade apple cider which tasted really good, and we took the opportunity to pick some pumpkins. We also took a hay ride which Ashlyn just loved.

Last year when Richard and Lynn visited they went and saw the dodgers play baseball at dodgers stadium (Which we won't hold against them! Go Angels!) so this year we brought tickets to go see a Laker's pre-season basketball game down at Staples center. It was so much fun.

We also spent the day down in LA with my brother Robert and his wife Maria. We rode the metro train into Union station which was an experience, and went to Alvera street and then walked down to China town, and then went over to the Chinese theater and saw the Hollywood sign. It was a great day.

Chicago & Church History Tour

For fall break this year we took a trip with Jarom's family to Chicago, and then to various church history sites. Our trip was amazing, and the kids did great with all the driving.

Below is a picture of Nathans first plane ride. It was also the first time that Ashlyn had to have a paid seat which was really nice as it gave as all a little bit more room. She was very excited to get her own seat and to be able to look out the window.

In the hotel we stayed in Chicago our room had huge windows. The kids loved looking down at all the people walking around on the sidewalk.

We were in Chicago for a day so we spent it walking around and looking at all the great sites.

This water fountain was kinda creepy, but cool at the same time. After the water was done shooting out of the mouth the kids eyes would open, and the picture would change to another face.

And we can't forget Jarom's favorite part of Chicago getting to try deep dish pizza.

We had such a amazing trip. A big thank you to Jarom's parents for letting us tag along with them.
