Valentine's Day!

For Valentine's this year I found these cute wooden frames at Micheal's for a dollar. I thought this would be a great project for Ashlyn. We made three one for Grandma & Grandpa, one for Nanny & Pops, and one for Daddy to take to work. I let Ashlyn choose which colors she wanted to use, and let her go.

This was the finished project. This one was for Daddy!

Catching up! Trip to the Fire Station

Back in January Ashlyn was invited to go to the fire station with her friend Nathan. Ashlyn loved to get a close up look at the fire truck.

So I showed my sister Jaimie some of the craft blogs I had been looking at, and she found this really cute craft she wanted to make for Ashlyn. As you can see from the pictures below Ashlyn has quite a few hair bows thanks to my friend Emily. I love putting bows in Ashlyns hair, but there were so many I just had them stuffed in a drawer in her bathroom. This is perfect! it keeps them all in one place and I can see which ones she has. Im not sure what site she found this but I will find it out and post it later, but didn't it turn out cute!

The other day I was looking though various blogs (filling my time productively) when I came across this really neat crayon holder. I gave it a go and voila this is how it turned out. Not too bad for my first try. You can go here for a great tutorial from Skip To My Lou.

Maui, Hawaii 2009

When we first arrived at the beach in Maui Nathan wanted nothing to do with the sand he wouldn't even touch it, but after a little while there was no stopping him. He loved the water and loved to try to eat the sand.

These are a few of the water falls on the road to Hana. It was a little disappointing Hawaii hadn't had much rain so the waterfalls where not very full.

We saw quite a few whales on our whale watch, but for some reason we didn't take any pictures of the actually whales. I think I was more concerned that one of my children didn't fall off the boat into the ocean.

Ashlyn loved the beach and she loved hanging out with Aunt Laurel. They sat like this for a long time just talking to each other.

We found a really good ice-cream place and couldn't resist posting this picture of Ashlyn.

Christmas Day 2009

Christmas morning we ended up waking Ashlyn up at around 7:30am. When she woke up and realized that Santa had been she was soon out of her bed and off to see what Santa had brought.

For breakfast we had Tami Nales famous breakfast casserole.

Then we rushed over to my parents to open more presents and to have our first Christmas dinner. Here is Ashlyn and Courtney wearing their crowns they got from there Christmas crackers which is a English tradition.

Then in the evening we went over to Jarom's parents to open more presents and to eat our second Christmas dinner. For some reason I forgot to take any pictures there, but we had a great time, and Ashlyn is already talking about next Christmas.
