Decorating for Christmas was so much fun this year. We spent the day after Thanksgiving setting up lights outside of our house. It was so fun being in our new house and decorating it for the holidays. We hung icicle lights around the front of the house, and then hung coloured lights around the windows and the two columns in front of our house. It turned out really nice. The next day we went and picked out our Christmas tree. Ashlyn was so excited. She just kept walking around looking at all the really big trees. We finally decided on a 7-8 ft tree and took it home. As you can see by the pictures the tree looks alot bigger when you put it inside your house then it does outside on the Christmas tree lot, but I think it is perfect.

This is Jarom's favorite part of setting up the Christmas tree taking the giant clippers and triming it.

As you can see he did a pretty good job.

This was after we had hung all the decorations. It was so fun showing Ashlyn all of our ornaments and telling her where we got each one.

Halloween 2008

This Halloween was so much fun! Ashlyn and I spent the day baking Halloween sugar cookies and then decorating them. I've wanted to start fun holiday traditions that Ashlyn will remember and look forward to every year.

Ashlyn had the most fun decorating the cookies, and it wasn't long before most of the icing was ending up in Ashlyns mouth than on the cookies.

Later in the evening we went over to my Grandmas house and went trick or treating in her neighbourhood. Ashlyn was a little unsure at first, but after the first few houses she knew what was going to happen when she held out her little pumpkin.

Here's a picture of Ashlyn with her loot. She got so much candy that while she wasn't looking we had to hide most of it and only give her a little of what she could actually eat.

Well it finally happened!

Last night Ashlyn and I were laying in my bed watching some t.v and getting ready to go to bed. When out of nowhere Ashlyn starts throwing up all of the food she had eaten that night, which included the spaghetti I had made for dinner (I don't think I need to say anymore). Jarom and I just looked at each other as she continued to throw up all over our bed. I knew this day would come, but up until now she had never thrown up anything but milk. The smell was over powering, and since I have gotten pregnant I gag at the slightest smell. You can imagine the scene, I am trying to comfort our puking baby while gagging myself. Let's just say Jarom really stepped up to the plate. He hosed off our child, cleaned the chunks off of our bed, and then put all of our bedding in the washing machine while I stood a safe distance away. After Jarom was done cleaning Ashlyn up she was back to her usually self. I guess we will see what happens today!

Fall Fun

For Family Home Evening this week, we had a lot of fun decorating our pumpkins we had picked out at the pumpkin patch. Ashlyn was so excited to be able to finally decorate her pumpkin with her crayons and stickers that she picked out.

While Jarom was taking all the insides of his pumpkin out he tried to show Ashlyn what he was doing. She wanted nothing to do with it. Every time he tried to show her she kept saying "no no no" each time getting a little louder. If you look closely at the picture below you can see she is telling Jarom no.

This was the finished project. It was a lot of fun, and definitely the start of a family tradition.

Ashlyn & Daddy

This picture was so cute I couldn't resist posting it.

Ashlyn loves her daddy so much. When she wakes up in the morning Jarom is already at work, but every morning without fail the first thing she asks me is "Where's daddy" which is then repeated like a hundred times a day. It is so nice to see how much they love each other.

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we took Ashlyn to the Pumpkin Patch. It is so much fun now that Ashlyn is a little bit older and could understand what we were doing.

She wasn't too sure about standing in the giant pumpkin. If you look closely you can she her head in the pumpkin's nose.

Ashlyn was amazed at the size of this pumpkin!

We finally found the perfect Ashlyn sized pumpkin.

Los Angeles Zoo

This fall break we also took a trip with our friends Seth and Emily and their kids Nathan and Audrey to the Los Angeles Zoo. It was so much fun to see how excited Ashlyn got over every animal. Here are a few of Ashlyn's favorite animals of the day.

At the end of the day we asked Ashlyn which animal was her favorite, and her reply was "the animals". I guess she just couldn't pick.
