First Beach Trip of the Summer

In July we went with my family to Corona Del Mar for the day. It was so much fun. It was Nathans first trip to the beach and I was super excited to see how he liked the ocean and the sand, but as you can tell by the picture below this is how Nathan spent his day at the beach. There is just something about that sea breeze that allows you to take such a good nap.

Here is Ashlyn playing with Aunt Jaimie. Ashlyn loved the beach, She played in the ocean and the sand the whole day she wouldn't even stop to eat!

Here is Ashlyn with Uncle Josh. They were using the binoculars to spot ships out in the ocean. Ashlyn was pretty funny when she was looking though the binoculars they were as big as her face.

It was a fun day. We can't wait to go back!

Picnic at the Park

For family home evening we decided to enjoy the nice weather and go have a picnic in the park. We packed lots of goodies to eat. Here is Ashlyn eating her giant sandwich.

Nathan was so good at the park. He loves to be outside, and just sat in his car-seat and giggled at us.

Ashlyn loved the swings. and kept wanting to go higher and higher.

Ashlyn wanted both Jarom and I to sit with her on the gator.

What a great time!

Fourth of July

Fourth of July this year was really fun. In the afternoon we headed over to my family's house had a BBQ and hung out. We ate way too much, but had a lot of fun. Then in the evening we headed out to Maverick stadium (or Stater Bros Stadium as it is now called) for the Maverick's game followed by fireworks. This was the first baseball game we had taken Ashlyn too, and she was so excited. We ended up having to buy grass seats as the game was sold out, but I think that worked well. We laid out our blanket ate our snow cones, and enjoyed the game. Nathan was so good he just laid on the blanket and slept most of the game, and Ashlyn did great too she can't wait to go back again.

I forgot our camera so here are a couple of pictures that I took with my cell phone.

After the game (which the Mavericks won in the bottom of the ninth) they had a fireworks display which was really neat. Ashlyn however was not a big fan of the fireworks. She said they were way to loud so she kept her fingers in her ears until it was over. Nathan on the other hand loved the fireworks. I was worried that they would be way too loud for him, but I think he enjoyed the bright colours. I think the game was a big success Ashlyn is still talking about it. It was a lot of fun, and turned out to be a great day.

Easter 2009

We started our Easter festivities Saturday night by dyeing eggs. This was the first year that we had done this with Ashlyn, and she loved it. Ashlyn's main job was to place stickers on the dyed eggs. (She loves stickers, and we are constantly finding stickers all over our house)

She also enjoyed placing the eggs in the dye and watching it change colour.

She took decorating her egg very seriously. She wanted to make sure the design was just perfect.

Jess, Todd, and Luke came over and dyed eggs with us. This is Ashlyn and Jess dyeing a egg with Jess's face on it per Ashlyns request.

Here are the kids Easter baskets.

Ashlyn was so excited for her basket. I think she was more excited to find out that there was candy in there. After we looked though their Easter baskets we had a Easter egg hunt. All day Ashlyn kept saying that was her favorite part of the day. She did a great job, and found all the eggs we hid.

Nathan Jarom Viehweg

Well the day we had been anxiously awaiting finally happened! Nathan Jarom Viehweg was born on March 21st 2009 weighing in at 8lbs 9oz and 20 1/4 ins long.

Valentines Day 2008

Valentines day this year was so much fun. I was excited that it was a Saturday and that Jarom could be home to celebrate with Ashlyn and I. We started off the morning with heart shaped french toast and eggs.

Ashlyn was so excited when she saw the heart shaped french toast, and Jarom was just sad that I cut off the crusts, because those are his favorite part.

Well at least Ashlyn was excited!

Then later on in the day Ashlyn and I made heart shaped sugar cookies which she got to help roll out and then sprinkle sugar on.

As you can see she was pretty excited to be helping!

This was Ashlyn's valentine gift. She got a few books and a valentine shirt...

which she liked very much.
